Zero Homes Joins Exelon’s 2025 2c2i Cohort to Accelerate Equitable Electrification

A Major Milestone in Scaling Innovation for Climate and Community Impact

Zero Homes is proud to be named one of three 2025 recipients of Exelon’s Climate Change Investment Initiative (2c2i) — a recognition of our technology-driven approach to whole-home electrification and our commitment to climate justice, innovation, and community outcomes.

Backed by one of the nation’s largest utility companies, this partnership marks a pivotal moment in our mission to electrify the 60 million fossil-fueled homes across the U.S. With Exelon’s support, we’re poised to expand our technology and services into new markets, accelerating access to clean energy for more households.

Exelon + Zero Homes: A Shared Vision for Scalable Solutions

Exelon serves more than 10.7 million customers across major metropolitan areas through its six fully regulated utilities — Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO, and Pepco — in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. These communities represent some of the most diverse and densely populated regions in the country, where the need for equitable, scalable climate solutions is urgent and growing.

With operations in California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, and Massachusetts, Zero Homes brings a national track record in rapidly deploying electrification programs. We’re excited to bring our digital-first platform, contractor network, and whole-home approach to Exelon’s service areas — unlocking new opportunities for innovation, affordability, and decarbonization at scale.

Powering Progress Through 2c2i

The Exelon Foundation’s 2c2i program supports early-stage companies solving for the intersection of climate, community, and economic opportunity. As a 2025 Environmental Steward, Zero Homes will receive:

  • A direct equity investment from the Exelon Foundation

  • In-kind services and support from Exelon Corporation

  • A co-developed Impact Project with Exelon's six utilities

This collaboration allows us to collaborate directly with the operational teams at Exelon to integrate our technology into their programs and meet the evolving needs of Exelon customers — from digitized remote energy assessments to bundled designs, quotes, and installations for heat pumps and other home upgrades.

Looking Ahead: Technology Meets Territory

We see this partnership as more than a milestone — it’s a launchpad. With Exelon’s backing, Zero Homes will deepen our presence in key metro areas and build the connective tissue between technology, contractors, and households in the clean energy transition.

Together, we’ll work to reduce emissions, lower energy bills, and make it easier than ever for families to upgrade to healthy, electric homes — no matter their zip code.

As Exelon’s Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, Sunny Elebua, put it:

“Our collaboration with these innovative companies continues to produce positive outcomes for our communities and challenges us to think creatively in pursuit of better climate solutions for all.”

We couldn’t agree more.
